Why did John, right at the end of his gospel, mention that there were 153 fish caught on the third time the disciples of Jesus encountered Him after the resurrection?
What is the significance of the 153 and “third”? 153 is a fishy pun based on the geometry of intersecting circles — since the time of Archimedes, 153 had been known as the measure of the fish. But what does that have to do with resurrection?
