The Soprano is based on a true story about an ordinary Australian with an extraordinary gift who strives, against all odds, to be an opera star and sing at La Scala.

Her debut is postponed at the outbreak of World War I, and her career threatened when World War II erupts. She joins the resistance against Germany.
